Office 365 Pro Plus Add-ins Deployment

Office 365 Pro Plus is the software included in Office 365 E3 and up. This is a special Office software version, build for the cloud, and licensed by an Office 365 account. Thanks to this, we can manage it through the Office 365 admin portal.

Indeed, we can use the admin portal to manage Office 365 Pro Plus, for example, we can deploy Add-Ins. Microsoft gives us a great tool name “Centralized Deployment“.

We have several options, for one specific person, for a group, or for everyone. You can also choose the deployment method. Here under a screenshot:

You can find this menu in:

Then, click on “Deploy Add-In”, then “Next”, then “Choose from the store”. In my example, I chose the add-ins we talked about previously.

Then search for the add-in you want to deploy and click “Add”, and confirm the popup (even if greyed, click will work).

Then, select the deployment scope & method. Deployment is enabled, then click “Next” & “Close”.

It can take up to 12 hours to appear on the Outlook clients.

Conclusion

That’s very convenient because your Office 365 users may not belong to a old school Active Directory, and it does not require an Intune license.
